Students’ Excursion

The BDA organised an excursion for students of all batches of Interior and Fashion Design. 39 students, accompanied by 4 faculty members, visited Bhubaneswar and Vishakhapatnam from 13th to 19th March 2020.
In Bhubaneswar, the students saw and studied the architecture of the Konark Temple, Raja Rani Temple and Lingraj Temple. They also visited the caves at Udaygiri and Khandagiri. The students also visited Nuapatna where they saw a Weavers’ Cluster. They experienced first hand the process involved in the making of Ikat fabric. They moved around the village observing the yarn to fabric process in various weavers’ houses.

In Vishakapatnam, the students were taken to see the Submarine and Aircraft Museums. They also visited an old church at Ross Hill to see the architecture and Araku Valley where they visited the tribal cluster and the botanical garden.
