A visit to the Asian Paints Academy was organised for students of Interior Design. The Asian Paints Colour Academy trains and educates painters and contractors about the new finishes and their practical application. The students were shown a Power Point presentation about the Academy and its role, along with a live demonstration of different textures.

The students of Interior Design, both One and Two Years were taken for a field visit to the Hettich Application Centre. They gathered information about various hardware used in kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, offices and commercial places etc. The students also saw a model installation regarding the uses of hardware.

A three day workshop on Draping was conducted for One and Two year Fashion students on the 27th, 28th and 29th June 2018.

A two-day workshop was held for the students of Design Fundamental, Fashion and Interior. It was organised by Banglanatak.com, an NGO which works with artisans and craftsmen of West Bengal. One and Two years Fashion Students have commenced their month-long internship with Weavers’ Service Centre, a unit of Ministry of Textiles from 14th May 2018.

Students of Fashion Design One Year accompanied by two Faculty members visited Jaya Shree Textiles at Rishra. They were informed about the technique of making yarn out of flax. They also saw the process of screen printing on linen fabric.

Students of One and Two years of Fashion and Interior Design attended a three day Seminar on Marketing conducted by Mr. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs, The Bhawanipur College. This was held from 09 – 11 April 2018.
