Ei Samay, of the Times of India group organised a Beauty Pageant Deepti for students from various colleges in Kolkata. From the total number of applicants, 100 girls were shortlisted, from which 20 finalists were selected. The finalists were groomed for the Pageant held at Hotel J W Marriot, on 19th September 2019
The Bhawanipur Design Academy was given an opportunity to be a part of this mega event. Our students were given the opportunity to design and construct garments for one of the final sequences of the Event.
There were three rounds at the final event to shortlist the candidates. One round of the pageant was dedicated to the Fashion Designing Department of The Bhawanipur Design Academy. The twenty finalists, wore garments designed and constructed by the final semester students from the Fashion Design course.
The exclusive event was well represented by major industry houses such as Senco Everlite, Sreeleathers, Oliv Allen, Peerless, etc and members from Tollywood(Saheb, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Koel Malik, Arindam Sil, Paoli Dam etc.).
The Fashion Design students of The Bhawanipur Design Academy, who had completed their course in July 2019 worked hard at the designing and construction of the garments. With the continuous support and inspiration from the Management and assistance from the faculty members their efforts were well rewarded by the accolades they received at the venue.
