events 2017-18

The first / third semester juries were held from February 13 – 20. Each jury panel comprised of 3 external members along with internal faculty members. The students displayed their work and were quizzed on their understanding, and all in all the jury was satisfied with the overall progress. Some glimpses  from the juries:

Students of Fashion and Interior Design were taken for an educational excursion to Hyderabad. The students visited Golconda Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where they experienced a Sound and Light Show, and also visited the famed Charminar. They also toured Chowmahalla Palace and the Salar Jung Museum, where they were exposed to the life

BDA students participated in twenty-two events at Umang 2017 with enthusiasm. They won awards in Nail Painting, Photography, T-Shirt painting, Non-gas Cooking and Tug of War. The students also participated in other events such as Badminton (girls & boys), Antakshari, Bollywood Dance, Carrom, etc.

Departments of Fashion and Interior Design, BDA set up two Pavilions at Umang 2017, which was held from 14-17 December 2017. The Fashion Pavilion displayed garments and accessories created by the students. The pavilion of Interior Design showcased the various features involved in designing interiors. The students from both departments participated with great enthusiasm.

The annual Graduation Fashion Show for Fashion Design Two years (Batch 2015-17) and Fashion Design One year (Batch 2016-17) was held on 14th December 2017. A total of 47 students from both batches participated in the Show. There were a total of 12 sequences, including that of the Paper Dress made by Fashion Design Fundamental

Students from Interior Design Two Years and Interior Design One Year batches were taken for a field visit to Sylvan Plywood Factory at Baidyabati. They also visited a GI Fitting Industry and an under construction bungalow at Belilious Road, Howrah, on 14 December 2017.

The Graduation Fashion Show for the Fashion Design students Batch 2016-17 and Batch 2015-17 will be held on 14th December 2017. The students will be showcasing their designs for the show.

The Interior Design department held their Annual Convocation ceremony on the 25th of November 2017. Successful students from the Two year course, batch 2015-17 were awarded Diplomas and the One year course, batch 2016-17 were awarded Certificates. Special awards were given for Academic performance as well as Overall performance to the deserving candidates from both

The Two year Fashion and Interior Design students Batch 2016-18, got together to organise a welcome for the incoming batch of new students. The theme for the event was Retro Bollywood, “Action Replay”. The Auditorium was decorated by the Interior Design students, as per the theme. Two selfie corners were set up which provided the

Teachers Day was celebrated by all Fashion and Interior Design students with great fervour. The students got together to decorate the department and organised activities and snacks for the Faculty members. With good teacher and much song and dance, everyone had a jolly good time.
