  • Portfolio Development Workshop
    Two special classes on Portfolio Development were held by Mr. Avishek Ray, Fashion Designer, for Fashion Design One and Two Year students. on 21.06.2019.
  • Special Class on Fibre Identification and Fabric Science
    Mr. P. N Ghosh from the Textile Committee held seven special classes on Fabric Science and Fibre Identification for Fashion Design Two and One year students on 11.05.2019. The students were acquainted with practical and theoretical knowledge on various types of Fabrics.
  • Field visit to NITCO Studio
    24 students of Interior Design One year and Two years were taken on a field visit to Le Studio – NITCO Orientation Centre at Anandapur, Kolkata on 09 May 2019.   • Internship at Weavers’ Service Center
    Students from Fashion Design One and Two Years attended a Summer Internshipon Weaving and Handloom with the Weavers’ Service Centre, a unit of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. The one month Internship, from 14.05.2019 to 15.06.2019, was extremely beneficial for the students
  • Carpentry Workshop
    A three day workshop on Carpentry was held at the Design Academy premises for Interior Design One Year and Advance students from 13.05.2019 to 15.05.2019. The workshop was organised to introduce a practical knowledge of carpentry work among students.   • WGSN Seminar: Fashion Design
    Fashion Design One Year and Advanced students attended a Seminar on Fashion Forecasting 2020 at the Hotel Oberoi Grand on 08.04.2019. WGSN organises these Seminars in various cities to introduce International trends for the coming year.
  • Visit to Hettich Application Centre: Interior Design
    The students of Interior Design, both one and two years were taken for a field visit to the Hettich Application Centre at Topsia, on 10.04.2019. They were accompanied by two faculty members.   • Seminar on Marketing
    Seventy five students from Fashion Design and Interior Design department attended a three day Seminar on Marketing conducted by Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs, The Bhawanipur College, on 24, 25 and 29 April 2019. Prof. Dilip Shah, in the course of his session, also spoke about different aspects of entrepreneurship.
  • Workshop on Fashion Forecasting
    A Seminar cum Workshop, conducted by Mr. Sandeep Sarkar, Faculty NIFT was held on 11.04.2019 to introduce the students of Fashion Design One year and Advance to what is Fashion Forecasting and how to predict the trends for the future seasons. He also spoke about Brands and their Logos and design of Logos.
  • Industry Visit to Rajalakshmi Cotton Mills

  • Seminar on Ergonomics
    Prof. Somnath Gangopadhyay, Head of Department, Ergonomics, Raja Bazar Science College, Calcutta University conducted a Seminar on Ergonomics and its application in Design, on 18.04.2019. The seminar was attended by the One and Two year students of Fashion and Interior Design.
  • Industry visit to Greenply Factory
    Interior Design One year and Two year students went for an Industry visit to the Greenply Plywood Factory at Kriparampur on 10 April 2019.   • BDA participation at FBB (Fashion @ Big Bazaar)
    FBB had organised a Fashion Show where our students showcased the garments created by the Fashion Design students on 19.03.2019. They also walked the ramp with the creations of FBB, worn in an innovative fashion. The BDA won the trophy for the Best Dress Design.

  • BDA Pavilions at Umang
