  • End of Year Juries 2017
    Towards the end of the Semester, the BDA held end-semester Examinations for all the students of Fashion Design and Interior Design One Year and Two Years Courses.   • Participation at Prayas
    Students of the Creative Art course participated in Prayas, an exhibition cum sale on 29th and 30th July 2017, at Parasdham near Lansdowne Market. The students exhibited and sold their products with great enthusiasm.
  • Project for Phoenix Creations
    Students of Fashion Design Two Years and One Year created Designs for Phoenix Creations, an apparel firm. The selected designs were awarded with Certificates and Silver Coins.
  • Cricket Tournament
    The BGESS ISC Department organised a Cricket Tournament between the faculty members of BDA and ISC. The Gents team comprising four teachers and two students played against the ISC male teachers team. The Ladies team comprising three teachers and three students played against the ISC Ladies team. The BDA ladies team won their match.
  • Workshop on Fashion Forecasting
    A Seminar cum Workshop was conducted by Mr. Sandeep Sarkar on 1st July 2017 for the Students of Fashion Design One Year and Two Years.   • Seminar on Vaastu
    Mr. Ayan Ghosal, presented a lecture on Vaastu on 6th July 2017.   • DesignFesta 2017 – ID Fest
    The Interior Design Department organised the first DesignFesta, a two day program for the students.   • Seminar on Bathroom Fittings
    The students of Interior Design, Two years,  will be attending a Seminar on “Complete Bathroom Fittings” organised by Jaguar on 15th June 2017 at their Orientation Centre.
  • Fashion Draping Workshop
    The Fashion Design Department of The Bhawanipur Design Academy is organising a Workshop on FASHION DRAPING.   • Summer Internships 2017
    The students of the Interior Design department were sent on a 10 day internship to various eminent Interior Designers. This was aimed at introducing the students to the workings of Interior Design organisations, to guide them when they step out into the industry on completion of their courses.   • Workshop at Weavers Service Centre
    The Two years and One year students of Fashion Design attended a 15 day workshop at the Weavers Service Centre, Beliaghata. The WSC is a unit of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.   • Visit to Bandel Church and Hoogly Imambara
    Students of Interior Design (Fundamental) visited Bandel and Hoogly on 15 May 2017. They visited the famous Church and the Imambara, both rich in architectural features. The students were able to experience the architectural treasure troves and construction methods of the structures. The head of department Mr. Sumit Bose accompanied the students.
  • First Batch Modelling Show 2017
    The first batch of Modelling and Styling course was completed after 12 classes. The students who completed the course presented a small show of two sequences for an in-house audience. The show, though short, was well presented and thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
  • Abid Exhibition 2017
    The students of Interior Design, One and Two Years, attended the ABID Exhibition held at Netaji Indoor Stadium. Two students and one Faculty member also received awards at the event for their performance.   • Lectures on Marketing, Costing & Project Preparation
    A series of Lectures on Marketing, Costing, Pricing and Project Preparation were conducted by Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean, The Bhawanipur were held on 22nd and 23rd March 2017 for Fashion and Interior, Second Year and One Year students.\ Two subsequent lectures are scheduled to be held on 28th and 29th March 2017.
  • Workshop on Portfolio Building & Presentation Skills
    A Seminar and Workshop on Portfolio Building and Presentation Skills was held on 21st March 2017, for students of Fashion Second Year and Fashion One Year. It was conducted by Mr. Sandeep Sarkar, a well known fashion designer and wildlife photographer.
  • Semester end Juries Feb 2017
    The end of Semester Juries for all batches of Fashion and Interior Design were held between 1st to 16th February 2017. The students presented their work to panel of three Jury members, formed of important personalities from the Industry. The students were graded on various parameters.     The Faculty and students of BDA had a most enjoyable day out at the Chanakyapuri Country Resorts, 24 Parganas (S) on 19th January 2017.
  • Ergonomics Lecture by Prof Somnath Gangopadhyay
    Professor Somnath Gangopadhyay of the Department of Physiology, Calcutta University, conducted a lecture on Ergonomics for the students of the  Advanced, Fundamental and One year course of Interior Design. All the students and Faculty of the Interior Department attended the Lecture. Prof. Gangopadhyay is the Hony. General Secretary, Physiological Society of India.

  • BDA Graduation Fashion Show 2016
    Fashion Show held on 15 December 2016 at the College Campus. The Bhawanipur Design Academy held its Graduation Fashion Show in the college grounds on 15 December 2016.   • Freshers’ Party on 3rd September. ‘Back to Tradition’
    The BDA organised a welcome event for the new batch of Fashion and Interior Design students. The theme for the event was Back to Tradition. All the new students were asked to dress as per the theme, and subsequently walked the ramp.
