The end of Semester Juries for all batches of Fashion and Interior Design were held between 1st to 16th February 2017. The students presented their work to panel of three Jury members, formed of important personalities from the Industry. The students were graded on various parameters. Each session was followed by a feedback from the Jury members to the students to enable them to help the students understand the areas where they need improvement.
Professor Somnath Gangopadhyay of the Department of Physiology, Calcutta University, conducted a lecture on Ergonomics for the students of the Advanced, Fundamental and One year course of Interior Design. All the students and Faculty of the Interior Department attended the Lecture. Prof. Gangopadhyay is the Hony. General Secretary, Physiological Society of India.

Fashion Show held on 15 December 2016 at the College Campus. The Bhawanipur Design Academy held its Graduation Fashion Show in the college grounds on 15 December 2016. The budding designers of Fashion Design One and Two years programmes were provided a platform to showcase their creative and design abilities to the members of the industry. The BDA organised a welcome event for the new batch of Fashion and Interior Design students. The theme for the event was Back to Tradition. All the new students were asked to dress as per the theme, and subsequently walked the ramp. The Fashion Department invited Ms Divya Malik for a talk and slide presentation on ‘ Fashion Marketing in the Present Global Context’ on 27th August 2016. 50 students of Fashion One Year and Fashion Advance attended the Presentation. Ms Malik was a student of the Bhawanipur Design Academy in 2011-12 and completed her Masters from Pearl Academy in 2014. She is at present working with MISHTAG, strategising and creating the content and marketing plan for App, Website and Social Media.
A Cricket Tournament was held on the 6th and 16th of July 2016, in the The Bhawanipur Gujarati Educational Society College grounds. BGESS – ISC and the BDA each fielded two teams (of six players each) – one comprising of female and the other comprising of male faculty members. Trophies, Medals and Certificates were awarded to the winners.
